Real Madrid Almost Top the Money League
Deloitte have published their Football Money League, for the 2016 / 2017 season.
Real Madrid, when it comes to revenue, just failed to claim that top-spot they once held for eleven consecutive seasons.
This time around, Real Madrid were beaten by Manchester United with the English Premier League side beating Real Madrid by the narrowest of margins, a meagre €1.7 million, as a result of winning the Europa League so it would seem.
However, Real Madrid did finish ahead of their Spanish rivals with the top ten clubs being named by Deloitte as:
1. Manchester United: €676.3m
2. Real Madrid: €674.6m
3. Barcelona: €648.3m
4. Bayern Munich; €587.8m
5. Manchester City: €527.7m
6. Arsenal: €487.6m
7. Paris Saint Germain: €486.2m
8. Chelsea: €428m
9. Liverpool: €424.2m
10. Juventus: €405.7m
Will Real Madrid return to the top next season?
That will depend on how the club do in the Champions League, I`d imagine.
