Is It Game Over as far as La Liga is Concerned?

Although Real Madrid are a whopping sixteen points behind the La Liga leaders Barcelona, with a game in hand, their recent form remains good.

Since being comprehensively beaten by Tottenham Hotspur, at Wembley, in the Champions League when Real Madrid lost 3-1, they have only been beaten on the one occasion in the last thirteen games.

However, that defeat was a bitter pill to swallow as it came at the Bernabeu against our long-time rivals Barcelona.

With a game in hand, Real Madrid supporters are hoping that the sixteen-point gap can be narrowed to thirteen-points.

But can Barcelona be caught?

The statistics would suggest no, the Catalan side are unbeaten, in all competitions this season and to concede that sort of lead would require a monumental collapse.

It`s doubtful whether Barcelona will go the season unbeaten, somebody will get the better of Ernesto Valverde`s side, but to close a gap of that magnitude Barcelona would need to lose four or maybe five games with Real Madrid winning all theirs.

It`s, we feel, a possibility but not a probability.

Game over as far as the La Liga is concerned or do you beg to differ?
