Celta Vigo 2 Real Madrid 2

Celta Vigo 2 Real Madrid 2

In what was, in all honesty a must-win game, Real Madrid could only draw with Celta Vigo.

The draw sees the gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona at a staggering 16 points although Real Madrid do have a game in hand.

Zinedine Zidane recalled a fit-again Gareth Bale to the starting eleven and the Welshman was to have an impact on the game.

Real Madrid didn`t get off to the best of starts going a goal behind in the 33rd minute when Iago Aspas provided an assist for Daniel Wass to lift a delicate lob over Keylor Navas to give Celta Vigo the lead.

Real Madrid fought back in style though and in the space of five minutes not only levelled maters up but took the lead when Gareth Bale finished with aplomb from passes by Toni Kroos and Isco.

Searching for an equaliser, Celta Vigo thought they had the ideal opportunity when awarded a penalty, Aspas took responsibility for the spot-kick but Navas produced a stunning save to keep Real Madrid ahead.

Unfortunately, with it looking like the three points were Real Madrid`s, Celta Vigo equalised when, from a Wass cross, Maxi Gomez headed home.

In a frantic finish Celta Vigo thought they were deserving of a late penalty Marcelo appeared to catch Aspas with a challenge but the referee waved away the appeals from the home side.

In the last minute, Real Madrid had a golden chance to win the game but Lucas Vazquez saw his shot well saved by the Celta Vigo keeper Ruben Blanco.
