Real Madrid Set to Sign Athletic Bilbao Keeper
According to a Spanish media source, Real Madrid`s interest in the Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea, could soon be ended.
Our associates at the popular Spanish news source, marca, are reporting that after dallying with the idea of signing de Gea for several years, the acceptance amongst the board is that their attention might be better served by looking elsewhere.
According to our referenced source, Real Madrid are set to abandon the chase for de Gea and instead focus on luring the Athletic Bilbao keeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, to the Bernabou.
Arrizabalaga, just 23-years-of-age, with Real Madrid looking to seal a deal during the January transfer window.
Although his current contract runs until June 30, Arrizabalaga has been in a contract dispute with Athletic Bilbao for the best part of a year with the club now, so it would seem, being prepared to cut their losses and sell the goalkeeper.
Our source also suggests that the signing of Arrizabalaga will be the first of several made by rea, Madrid this transfer window as they seek to close the gap on Barcelona at the top of the table.
