Real Madrid 3 Las Palmas 0

Real Madrid 3 Las Palmas 0

After defeats, on the bounce, at the hands of Girona and Tottenham Hotspur, it was essential that Real Madrid got back to winning ways, at the Bernabeu, against Las Palmas.

Thankfully, that proved to be exactly the case with Real Madrid taking the three points on offer by winning 3-0.

In winning Real Madrid certainly played better than in those two defeats and it certainly gives Zinedine Zidane a platform to build upon.

Real Madrid took the lead when a corner was headed home by Casemiro after taking a deflection off Jonathan Calleri before it reached Casemiro. That goal was to be the only goal of a first-half which Real Madrid dominated and carved out fourteen chances.

The second half saw Real Madrid double their lead when Marco Asensio unleashed a shot from some thirty-yards out that flew past the bewildered Las Palmas keeper after a weak punched clearance from Raul Lizoain.

The scoring was completed when, with Las Palmas on the back-foot, Isco tapped in a third from close-range after an assist from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The perfect result to greet the third international break of the season.

Things look to be on the up at the Bernabeu!
