Las Palmas Looking to Spring Bernabeu Shock

Las Palmas Looking to Spring Bernabeu Shock

Two defeats in the last two games have seen the pressure increase on Real Madrid.

With Barcelona having extended their unbeaten run in La Liga last night, with a 2-1 win over Sevilla, at the Nou Camp, Zinedine Zidane knows nothing less than a win will placate the support tonight, after an average start to the new season.

However, our opponents tonight, Las Palmas, despite sitting in second from bottom place in the table and having lost their last six games, will be looking to spring a surprise.

Their head coach, Pako Ayestaran, has commented on his sides approach tonight, remarking to the media,

'There are times when you can benefit because they have more doubts.

'If we're able to keep it goalless for longer then, they could become anxious, but Real Madrid always recover and sometimes it's more difficult to face them in this situation. You never know.'

Whilst the Real Madrid support will be expecting their side to win, perhaps we should remind them that Las Palmas held Real Madrid to two draws last season and in the corresponding fixture at the Bernabeu were leading 3-1 until Cristiano Ronaldo came to Real Madrid`s rescue with two goals in the final four minutes.

Life has taught me to never take anything for granted!
