Pochettino Won't Leave Spurs for Real Madrid

As we head toward a home La Liga fixture, against Las Palmas, speculation is still rife that the two defeats Real Madrid suffered could have ramifications as far as Zinedine Zidane is concerned.

Defeats in La Liga to Girona and a humbling 3-1 reverse at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur, in the Champions League, has seen the grapevine alive with the inference that Real Madrid are looking at the Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino as the next occupant of the role Zidane now occupies.

However, it seems that it could be wishful thinking as far as securing the services of Pochettino is concerned.

Lurking in the pages of the esteemed publication, The Guardian, are some quotes that suggest luring the Argentine away from North London could prove nigh on impossible, with Pochettino remarking about his situation,

"When you win against Real Madrid or have good results in the Champions League or the Premier League, it`s normal that we are in the spotlight if a big club wanted to change something inside.

"For me, it only produces a big satisfaction. I feel proud about Tottenham and I feel proud about the players. In the end, that situation happens because the players are performing well, scoring goals and we are winning games.

"The most important club in the world is Tottenham.

"And it is the best club in the world. I need to feel like this and that emotion is real because I cannot be fake. It`s too difficult to create the trust if you don`t really believe and it`s not real, that emotion. Today, Tottenham is in my head 100%. Today, I do not change Tottenham for another position in the world because I am so involved, so focused."

Perhaps not the words those who control our club wanted to read.
