Golden Boy 2017 Nominations Announced

Italian newspaper Tuttosport have now compiled their shortlist for the 2017 Golden Boy Award.

This particular award is in it's second year, but the overall Awards ceremony has been annually held for the last 15 years. The Golden Boy recognises talented youngsters putting in performances of a regular standard for their club across the top European leagues and whilst some names will be very familiar to fans, there might be a few names that send people searching on the more popular computer games to see how they are rated.

Six English based nominees are in the 2017 shortlist and with names like Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele also included, this year's shortlist is certainly a strong one.

Nominees for 2017:

Aaron Martin (Espanyol), Jean-Kevin Augustin (RB Leipzig), Rodrigo Bentacur (Juventus), Steven Bergwijn (PSV Eindhoven), Kasper Dolberg (Ajax), Gianluigi Donnarumma (Milan), Gabriel Jesus (Man City), Joe Gomez (Liverpool), Benjamin Henrichs (Bayer Leverkusen), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina), Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona), Amadou Diawara (Napoli), Borja Mayoral (Real Madrid), Kylian Mbappe (Paris St-Germain), Emre Mor (Celta Vigo), Reece Oxford (Borussia Monchengladbach), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Marcus Rashford (Man United), Allan Saint-Maximim (Nice), Dominic Solanke (Liverpool), Theo Hernández (Real Madrid), Youri Tielemans (Monaco), Enes Unal (Villarreal), Kyle Walker-Peters (Tottenham).

The Golden Boy Award for 2017, amongst others, will be presented during the SPORTELMonaco Convention at the TV Sports Awards on October 23 at Glamor Salle Des Etoiles.

2016's winner of the prize was on loan Swansea City midfielder Renato Sanches who now plies his trade for Bayern Munich. Manchester United's Marcus Rashford came in second place.
