Carvajal's Real Madrid Pride

Carvajal's Real Madrid Pride

Dani Carvajal should be part of the side that will look to complete the job against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup this evening at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are 3-1 up against Barcelona and looking good to claim a second trophy in a little over a week but the defender knows there's work to be done despite, as is Los Blancos' mentality, another win being the aim.

He told 'We're playing the second leg tomorrow and we'll go out to win it. We're Real Madrid and we'll not take chances with the outcome of the first leg.'

Victory at the Nou Camp was important in terms of winning the Super Cup as was the win itself in respect of the boost a victory at Barca can achieve, which can be used toward Real's bid to retain the La Liga title.

However, Carvajal is aware securing the trophy this evening isn't necessarily essential to the upcoming season as such... but it'll help.

'Winning at the Camp Nou was an important step towards this Super Cup, on top of that it's always very important to win at the home of our biggest rival and it's a big boost for us too. Our goal is to win titles. Last year we didn't beat them and won the league.'

Now he's established himself in the side, Carvajal feels part of it and is proud of the part he's played for Real so far.

He went on to say further cementing his place in Zinedine Zidane's XI and helping to achieve more success is his next aim.

'I'm very proud to be part of the history of this club and I'm at a stage in my career where I feel the most mature. I'm no longer just the academy graduate and I'm improving and winning my place in the national team. I want to seize the moment and keep improving to win titles.'
