Well, That'll Put Off Barcelona
Real Madrid have taken somewhat drastic steps to ensure Barcelona's interest in Dani Ceballos isn't retained.
Barca, along with Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool, had been interested in Ceballos before he joined Los Blancos from Real Betis.
According to AS, a €500million release clause was included in his contract.
If interest is retained in Ceballos, 20, the clubs will have to absolutely smash the world record transfer fee in the years ahead, if Real aren't willing to sell, which we'll not be in a hurry, or under pressure to do so, given he's signed a six year deal.
Not only does this virtually assure Spanish U21 international Ceballos, the Player of the Tournament at the European Championships this summer, wouldn't join Barcelona it's also a huge commitment to Real too as the midfielder knows Los Blancos hold all the aces.
Should Ceballos produce the form expected of him, securing a regular first team place at the Santiago Bernabeu, he'll have a long and successful career at Real anyway, which is his aim anyway and was why he made it clear he wanted to come here above anywhere else.
