Ronaldo Wants Out - PSG Or Premier League Likely
How often have we heard this? However, the difference this time would seem Cristiano Ronaldo is the one who has made up his mind to leave Real Madrid?
In the wake of the tax evasion claims, which are strongly denied, Ronaldo, who arrived from Manchester United in 2009, is heading for a Real exit. Paris Saint Germain or a Premier League return is seen as his preferred option.
Real have backed Ronaldo amidst claims of defrauding the Spanish tax office of £13m, but the forward is 'sad' and 'upset' by the accusations against him and plans to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, reports the BBC.
A source close to the player said: 'He feels he's honest, has good character and did everything OK, so he doesn't understand. He's very sad and really upset.'
Having signed a new five year contract last November, Ronaldo, 32, had always insisted he wanted to end his career at Real, playing on until he was at least 40 - his current deal would take him through until his late 30s.
Unsurprisingly, the BBC say Ronaldo is attracting attention from the Chinese Super League but his advisers 'would prefer for him to stay in Europe' and that would see him join PSG or return to the Premier League.
Staying in Spain to join bitter rivals Barcelona isn't an option.
The BBC source added: 'He doesn't want to stay in Spain. At this moment he wants to leave.'
It is also thought the constant boos and jeers from some sections of the Bernabeu has angered and frustrated Ronaldo, who has now had enough and will spark a scramble to secure his signature for a world record transfer fee.
Currently the best footballer in the world, Ronaldo's clearly a great footballer who will be a huge loss to Los Blancos should his proposed exit come to fruition.
